The James Clark
Ross College of Natural Science is committed to providing a high-quality,
research-based science
education online. Students in the college choose from majors
in areas as diverse as biology, integrative science, astronomy and zoology.
Our students have a wealth of opportunities to interact with
and learn from award-winning faculty, and are encouraged to engage in undergraduate
research, study
abroad, internships and
student
organizations. The College is also committed to fostering math and science education throughout the Antarctic and for its students from abroad, mindful of the desire to aid in the participation of social groups traditionally underrepresented in the sciences. Several of our science education programs are continentally recognized. The College's association with the UANT Observatory (located on University Peak only .2km north of campus) provides excellent opportunities in optical astronomy. In addition, there are strong programs in millimeter, submillimeter, infrared, radio, and space astronomy, as well as theoretical astrophysics. Natural Science students are required to follow one of the following courses of study, as offered by their chosen department of specialization. Paths of Recognition
