Maui is the best place to study abroad in the world! I heard the natives were friendly from some sailors at McMurdo, so I said to myself 'next semester, I'm going to the South Pacific.' I thought language would be a huge problem, but- they all speak English too. And with no accents! After Antarctica, and all its people from northern Europe or wherever, speaking with (sorry guys- but c'mon) all those different accents, this was freaking AMAZING! Now, I love beaches. I'm from Georgia and Florida's beaches are my normal hang out, but Maui's are just as good! And after school? Snorkeling and swimming baby! My new hobbies. There's a whole underwater world down there. You'd be freaked out to see how much stuff there is going on underwater. Plus, Maui is a parrrrrty zone nonstop- with new tourists coming in all the time, highrollers and students like me (no one else from Antarctica though-- WHY?!!!)- we partied pretty much every night. School? Yeah, I went- my classes started at 2:40. No problem. They were just amazed I was from AU, figured I needed a vacation more than anything else. I swam with a bunch of bizarre creatures like once a week. Loads of dolphins, those nice bottlenosed ones from TV. They even swam up to me like I was going to feed them or something. Yeah right. Seriously, they did, like I brought a big old sirloin in the water just for them! I started yelling out at the ocean to the dolphins, and I swear they started hearing it- those things jumped out of the water and said hi right back! They'd knod their heads and make weird noises. I would throw stuff at them, they'd eat it sometimes. And the girls on Maui? I rembered reading Captain Magellan's depictions at boring old UANT's Lit class, he was totally wrong. He must've done something stupid for them to have speared him- these natives are fantastic! I do not want to leave! My semester ended and I'm still here. It will be hard to go back to America. As for next year at UANT- I am seriously thinking about not coming back. The houses and rent here cost a million bucks though (Oh yeah- they use dollars here too!). Anyway, they want me to put a recommendation or something here, so: DO IT, GET OVER HERE ASAP! Cancel your classes if you already registered! Mauiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!
