Guten Tag Everyone,
Florida (state and university) are good places to live
and study. I was never interested in much sports in
Germany, a little bit of football of course- I was even
at a world cup game- but living in Florida, I've become
a fan of the other kind of American football as well.
Tickets are quite expensive but reasonable if you are
an international student- as I was. It is completely
opposite from Antarctica main campus- weather of course,
but also size: our UANT campus consists of a few buildings
and labs, and a (very) small stadium and observatory,
all that. This campus is huge, with orange and blue
everywhere you look. The professors graded me fairly,
the majority of people had respect for my opinons on
political and social issues, which was also nice. There
is so much fast foot available everywhere, one has to
be careful not to put on a few pounds. My family who
I stayed with here travelled to the seacoasts once a
month. I was able to see many sights in Florida, including
the Walt Disney World, St. Augustine, the oldest town
in the Americas (that was not indigenious), Sea World,
which is a zoo for exotic aquatic creatures, and others.
I included a foto of a cat, most picky eather, which
ate only hand-fed albacore tuna. I must warn UANT students
who are heat-sensative: Florida did get quite hot, and
humid in the summer. Be careful. A lot of things in
FL are new. The state began in the business of tourism,
which it is still in, but most people did not move to
FL until - and I am not kidding now - air conditioning
was invented and became widespread. The sky is almost
never overcast (cloudy) and the Sun is so bright, it
is very hard to see when driving sometimes. This is
a cause of some accidents. In all, I recommend Florida.
Thank you, good luck. -Stefan
