O Fortuna...
NEO asteroid mining has been demonstrated by Robert Zubrin and even further by Bruce Damer. Here, Ron Miller depicts an asteroid 'gushing' water from a drill that was probing for the NEO's nucleus and struck water-ice.
Water in space is turning out to be more plentiful than was imagined in the 1980s, but Miller et. al., in all fairness, did predict it back then. But then again, Ron Miller was part of the team who in 1975 first proposed the Giant Impact Theory of lunar formation.
Another fortune made... in space. |
