Reconaissance upworld...
Even while a base is being built up little by little, the skeleton crew awaiting new arrivals don't waste any time. Mars is a planet with an atmosphere, and that means we take to flight!
For two reason is this a beautiful picture by Ron Miller. First, it pays homage to Bonestell in the shape of the flyer, and the flyer is winging it over an ancient river valley, itself reminding us that Mars once had liquid water and a warmer, more humid temprature.
Today, its as cold as Antarctica at high noon in the summer and way below that in winter and at nighttime. |
