They're out there... these little islands between planetary shores. Hidden from sight to the naked eye, but closer than almost all other celestial bodies... and always moving in relation to the fixed motions of the heavens.

 

Near-Earth objects are of intense interest today, not only to track in case one may intercept the Earth's orbit and crashland on top of us (as is inevitable), but also as resource depots.
